In my practice, I employ an unexpected range of language, imagery and material research to raise questions about the feminine, community building and the pursuit of ecological reimagining.

Because I have spent half of my life living and working in in countries far from my birth home, México, much of my thinking and influences relate to places, people and experiences that marked me somehow. In my work, I delve into the question: what does it mean to sense-think with embodied memories of other territories?
I also enjoy making for the sake of making, and find myself most of the time having fun while experimenting and playing with materials, techniques, forms and textures, intuitively, without attributing meaning a priori. Occasionally the dialogue that develops from these encounters transforms into something else.

As an artist, I am young and my artistic practice is still in development. I made a life changing shift in my early 40’s when I decided to leave a successful career rooted in the promotion of human rights and social justice to pursue an education in the arts. The abundance of experiences and criticality that come with age, and with a previous professional background nurtures my creative process and enriches my practice.
