Much of my drawings and paintings reflect upon experiences of simultaneous identities, hybrid consciousness or a state of in-betweenness. I use symbolic visual language charged with bright colours and imagery that is familiar from my Mexican upbringing, depicting worldscapes in which [mainly female] figures merge with, and relate to non-human creatures and energies that evoke transformation beyond dualities (plants, fire, Saints, animals).
